Explanations of Finance Reports

Budget-The City is required to submit this excel file to the state each year on March 15 to finalize the City's upcoming annual operating budget. It includes the city's tax levies, taxable valuation, total expenditures, and total revenues as well as a lot of other information.

CIP-The city's capital improvement plan (CIP), is a document that lists the large capital projects the City plans on completing in the next 5 -15 years. The CIP includes estimated expenses as well as potential revenue sources. The further an item is projected into the future the less assurance there is that it will be completed. The CIP is a fluid planning document that is generally in a draft form. The City Council at a minimum reviews the CIP every fall, but usually also reviews it at different times throughout the year.
